ABOUT THE COURSE
The Ten Qirats are the ten famous styles of Quran recitations by the famous chains of authority. All Qirats derive their name from the famous narrator who narrates them with well-established and documented chains. All Qirats are recited by the master with all variants. It is a kind of recitation set, which the students then transmit to the teacher. The ten Qirats are not the same as the different sounds and styles, rather are slight differences in pronunciation, letters, and movements. It is when you compare two different books of the Quran and find differences between them because each reading has its own Tajweed rules. Moreover, the various Qirats of the Holy Quran are evidence that the Quran is a revelation from Allah (SWT) and has been preserved through the ages, as all of these recitations were recited by a direct and original chain of narrators going back to the Prophet (PBUH). Qirat Abu Amr Al-Basri (Basra) The two Qaris who preserved this reading manner of the holy Quran were Ad-Doori and As-Soosi. Qirat Ibn Aamir Ash-Shami (Syria) The two Qaris who Recited with this recitation method were Hishaam and Ibn Zakwan. Qirat Asim al-Kufi (Kufa) Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A), Ahmad ibn Hanbal (R.A), Shuba, and Hafs preserved this recitation of the Quran. Qirat Hamzah Al-Kufi (Kufa) The two Qaris who preserved this recitation are Khalaf and Khallad. Qirat Al-Kisaa’i (Kufa) The two Qaris who preserved this way of Quran recitation are Al-Layth and Ad-Doori. Qirat Abu Ja’far Al-Madanee (Madinah) The two Qaris who preserved this way of recitation are Isa and Sulayman. Qirat Yaqub ibn Al-Basri (Basra) Imam Bukhari reported that he has recited in this manner of the recitation. Also, the two famous Qaris who narrated this recitation are Ruways and Rooh.
